Valley Fire knocks down hillside fire
DRUMMOND - The Valley Fire District responded to a hillside fire Thursday afternoon along the Frontage Road west of Drummond.
The blaze started after a home owner had a small fire get out of hand and that was quickly spread with light winds.
Trucks and firefighters from Drummond, Hall and Gold Creek stations all responded, working the fire for more than three hours before knocking it down. Some of the crew had to climb over the hill just north of the fire to get ahead of it and stop its spread.
No injuries, fatalities or loss of structures were reported from the incident.
