White Hall wins the Trojan War in Drummond

DRUMMOND – It was a battle of the Lady Trojans Thursday night as White Hall visited Drummond for the latter’s Homecoming game. Unfortunately for the local Lady Trojans, they fell in four games, 25-13, 9-25, 13-25, 11-25.

It started out looking the Drummond was going to make its Homecoming match a memorable one, making quick work of visiting White Hall in a 12-point win.

But when game 2 opened, it was like Mr. Hide showed up in place of Dr. Jekyll for the locals. The serves stopped hitting their mark, the passes went awry and the Drummond just lost its way. And that play extended over the next three games as the visiting Lady Trojans exited with win.

Drummond had a tough night offensively, registering eight service aces and nine kills on the night. Gracie Weaver led the locals with three aces from the back line, followed by Deana Parke and Sydney Phillips with two apiece and Rylee Hilmo with one. Phillips was tops at the net with three kills, with Hanna Bradshaw and Weaver chipping two each.

Hilmo led in defensive digs with 15 and was also tops in assists with four. Parke had the other two for just six on the night.

Drummond gets Friday off before heading to the Manhattan Christian Tournament Saturday.
